Lisa Cheadle (Alto)
Lisa is the founder member of “Musicology”. She started playing piano and the tenor horn at the age of 7 having been born into a “Salvation Army” family where music was a very large part of family life. At school she started to play the French horn and now regularly plays both piano and French horn in many local groups. She works part-time as a secretary and is also employed by Suffolk County Council as an “Accompanist”, one of her jobs being resident pianist for Cantabile Youth Choir run by the Suffolk County Music Service. Lisa has also taken part in numerous local musical shows as a ‘pit musician’ at The New Wolsey Theatre, Regent Theatre and Corn Exchange in Ipswich and the Spa Pavilion in Felixstowe; a job she loves! |

Sally Webb (Alto)
I moved from Stoke-on-Trent to Suffolk 27 years ago, to start a teaching career in Woodbridge. I joined Ipswich Gilbert & Sullivan Society and the Suffolk Military Band (Suffolk Concert Band today), playing clarinet. Since then I have danced, played and sung in several societies, including IODS, Ipswich Choral, Trianon, Holbrook Choral and of course Musicology! Music has introduced me to a diverse bunch of people, including my husband Geoff (tuba player in many local groups). Our daughter, Charlotte (aged 12) shares our love of music, often 'blowing her own trumpet" and singing! |

Mark Cheadle (Bass)
Mark started singing at the age of 9 as a boy chorister at St Augustine’s Church in Ipswich, eventually becoming Head Chorister. During this time he gained the St Nicholas Award – the highest award achievable from the Royal School of Church Music. At school he learnt to play the cornet and was a founder member of the Copleston Band Society. He is now principal solo cornet with the Suffolk Concert Band, plays trumpet with Trianon Music Group and has played in various ‘pit orchestras’ for local amateur dramatic groups. He has been a member of Musicology for 5 years, is married to Lisa and has two sons – Simon & Stuart. By day he is a Senior Agricultural Manager for NatWest Bank. |

Julian Illman (Bass)
Julian has been with Musicology from its first concert in April 1994. By day, he is the Aimhigher Suffolk Manager. Aimhigher is a government scheme which aims to widen participation into higher education from groups currently under-represented. Julian is married to Kathryn, who also sings with Musicology and they have a 17 year old son called Alexander. The family Illman/Bryant live happily in sunny Woodbridge. Julian is a keen singer and actor and has performed with a number of musical groups in the area, notably Woodbridge’s Company of Four and the Ipswich Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Kathryn and Julian are currently embarking on an exciting project based around the music of Cole Porter. |

David Butcher (Accompanist)
David Butcher lives and works in Suffolk as a broadcast engineer and is married with two young children. Much of his time away from the day job is spent involved in music in one form or another. He is the conductor of Sudbury Choral Society, organist at various local churches, and even an occasional cocktail pianist at Hintlesham Hall hotel and restaurant. The pipe organ is David's first love and recently he has been involved in recording various Suffolk instruments for a computer based digital organ simulation system called Hauptwerk. Nothing beats live music-making however and David always enjoys accompanying the singers of Musicology at their various concerts throughout the year. |
